barely above the surface of the shroud. Then I finished them off by hand with some sand paper, until I was at a 400 grit, I believe. I was careful, so there's no filler of any kind - like many people end up using. I just sprayed it with a few coats of Dupli-color trim spray and called it a day. It's pretty resilient stuff, btw - I used it to repaint my trim almost 5 years ago and it still looks perfect after countless washes. =)
